BMS-820132 is an orally effective, partial glucokinase activator with an AC50 of 29 nM. It can lower glucose levels in normal rat oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) models but does not reduce glucose levels in Zucker diabetic fatty (ZDF) rats. BMS-820132 has pharmacological toxicity secondary to potent GK activation.
