β-Cortolone is a metabolite of the glucocorticoid cortisol .1 It is formed from cortisol by 20β-droxysteroid dedrogenase (20β-HSD) via a 5β-tetradrocortisol intermediate. Urinary levels of β-cortolone are decreased in postmenopausal women with endometrial adenocarcinoma compared to postmenopausal women without endometrial adenocarcinoma.2
