L'isoviolanthine, un glycoside flavonoÏde, pourrait nettement inhiber la migration et l'invasion médiées par le TGF-β1 en désactivant la transition épithéliale-mésenchymateuse (EMT) via les voies TGF-β/Smad et PI3K/Akt/mTOR dans les cellules HCC. L'isoviolanthine ne présente aucun effet cytotoxique sur les cellules LO2 hépatiques normales.

Isoviolanthin is a flavonoid glycoside extracted from the leaves of Dendrobium officinale. Isoviolanthin reduces the migratory and invasive capacities of TGF-β1-treated HCC cells but exhibits no cytotoxic effects on normal live cells, and has potential as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of advanced-stage metastatic HCC[1].
