Argifin is a sub-nanomolar chitinase inhibitor produced by soil microorganisms, with IC50s of 0.025 渭M, 6.4 渭M , 1.1 渭M and 4.5 渭M for SmChiA (Serratia marcescens chitinaese A), SmChiB, Aspergillus fumigatus chitinase B1 and human chitotriosidase, respectively.
Argifin inhibits L. cuprina chitinase with IC50 values of 3.7 渭M at 37 潞C and 0.10 渭M at 20 潞C[1].
Argifin has the ability to inhibit L. cuprina molting[1].
