Boc-VPR-AMCは、トロンビンおよびトロンビン-スタフィロ凝固酵素複合体に対して特異的で高い蛍光を示す基質です。このトロンビンアッセイは、凝固因子IIIの間接的な測定に使用されています。ラットマスト細胞からのトリプターゼ、およびハナガニHalocynthia roretziの精子から分離された2つのトリプシン様酵素であるアクロシンとスペルモシンもこの基質を加水分解します。さらに、Boc-VPR-AMCはKex2エンドプロテアーゼ（以前はプロテアーゼyscFとして知られていたkexin）によっても切断されます。これは酵母α細胞から分泌される膜結合型カルシウム依存性セリンプロテアーゼです。Thrombinの動力学データ：kcat = 105、Km = 21 uMです。
