NADP+は、電子供与体であるニコチンアミドアデニンジヌクレオチドリン酸の酸化型である。NADP+は還元型のNADPHと共に、レドックスバランスの維持や脂肪酸および核酸の生合成をサポートする役割を担っている。
NADP+は、NAD+の構造アナログであり、ATPからNAD+のアデノシンリボース部分の2'-ヒドロキシル基へのリン酸基の転移によって合成される。この反応はNADキナーゼ(NADKs)によって触媒される。NADP+はさまざまな生物学的反応の補因子として機能する。NADP+/NADPHは、細胞のレドックス状態、エネルギー代謝、ミトコンドリア機能、遺伝子発現、シグナル伝達経路の調節に重要であり、広範な生物学的プロセスを維持するために不可欠である。
