4-Acetamido antipyrine (4-AAAP) is an active metabolite of the non-opioid analgesic and antipyretic prodrug metamizole .[1] It inhibits β-galactosidase activity, a marker of liver X receptor α (LXRα) activity, in a yeast two-hybrid assay (IC20 = 79.9 µM).[2] 4-AAAP has been found as a micropollutant in reclaimed wastewater.
