4'-Acetylchrysomycin B is a bacterial metabolite and derivative of chrysomycin B that has been found in Streptomyces and has antibacterial and anticancer activities.1 It is active against strains of B. subtilis, B. cereus, Corynebacterium bovis, and E. faecalis (MICs = 2-64 µg/ml). 4'-Acetylchrysomycin B is cytotoxic against a panel of human cancer cell lines, including doxorubicin-sensitive or -resistant cells (IC50s = 1.7-14 and 260-370 ng/ml, respectively).
