Brassinazole (Brz)은 브라젠노스테로이드(BR) 생합성에서 C-22 히드록시라제(CYP90B1)의 특이성 억제제로, 브라젠노졸의 응용은 BR 결핍 돌연변이를 보충하여 BRs의 기능을 규명하는 효과적인 방법으로 나타났다.Brassinazole 은 하이브리드 포플러의 텐션우드 형성 중 G섬유 세포벽 발달과 2차 엑스렘 세포벽 탄수화물 생합성에서 조절 역할을 한다[2]. 또한, Brassinazole 처리(5µM)는 감귤열의 성숙을 지연시키고 호흡 속도를 억제할 수 있다[3].
Brassinazole 처리(5, 1, 0.5μM)는 농도에 따라 아랍디드시앙 유기체의 키를 크게 줄이는 데에 의해 눈에 띄게 작용했다. 또한, Brassinazole 처리(1μM)는 BR 결핍 돌연변이와 유사한 표현형을 보였으며, 이는 브라젠놀라이드(BL)(10nM)의 응용으로 복구될 수 있다. 어둠에서 자란 10일 된 아랍디드시앙 유기체는 0에서 10μM까지의 다양한 농도의 브라지노졸로 처리되었다. Brassinazole 의 농도가 증가함에 따라 하이포코티우스의 길이가 감소하였다. 길이 변화는 0.1에서 0.5μM 사이에서 발생했다[4].
