Description Chemical Properties Product Documents

Pentanoyl-coenzyme A (pentanoyl-CoA) is a derivative of CoA that contains the short-chain saturated fatty acid pentanoic acid and a metabolite of 3-oxovalproyl-CoA.[1] It is formed from 3-oxovalproyl-CoA by mitochondrial thiolases. Hepatic levels of pentanoyl-CoA and propionyl-CoA are increased in an Apc+/Min-FCCC mouse model of spontaneous colorectal cancer fed a low- or high-fat diet.[2]
