Thymidine 5 '- diphosphate (dTDP) sodium is a key product in the synthesis of pyrimidine in living organisms. Thymidine 5 '- diphosphate sodium is produced by thymidine kinase (TMPK) catalyzing the phosphorylation of 5' - monophosphate thymidine (dTMP), which requires ATP and Mg2+. Thymidine 5 '- diphosphate sodium is further catalyzed by TMPK to thymidine 5' - triphosphate (dTTP). Detecting the level of Thymidine 5 '- diphosphate sodium can be used to indicate TMPK activity.
