Vacquinol-1 (NSC13316) dihydrochloride is a specific activator of MKK4 that can activate the MAPK pathway. Vacquinol-1 dihydrochloride specifically induces death of human glioblastoma cells (GC), slows tumor progression, and prolongs survival in a mouse model of glioblastoma. Vacquinol-1 dihydrochloride also induces apoptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells.
